Francisco Corselli (or Courcelle) was born in Piacenza (Italy) in 1705. He was designed chapel master of the church of Madonna della Steccata in Parma in 1727. In the same year, he was chapel master of the infante Charles, duke of Parma and future king of Spain. During this estance in Italy he composed the operas Venere placata (1731) and Nino (1732), and the oratorio Santa Clotilde (1733). On January 1734 Corselli were in Spain. He worked in Madrid as music teacher of the young infantes and in 1738 he succeeded José de Torres as chapel master of the Royal Chapel. He died in Madrid in 1778.
